Quality & testing
Each figure arrives with its method and basis
Read what we screen, the basis on which we report it, and how to check the material in your own laboratory.
Method and basis
Screened in our own laboratory before dispatch
Material is threshed, cleaned, sorted and graded in our own plant in Gujarat and screened in our own laboratory. Our in-house results are screening values, not results to a CORESTA method, so read each figure together with the basis stated beside it (as-is or dry).
When you need a figure to a CORESTA method, we arrange an independent laboratory on request. A sealed sample is retained from each lot, so a later question can be put to the same material.

How a lot is checked
Six steps between a lot and its specification
Each step supports a line on your specification sheet.
Sampling
A result describes the sample that was tested. For your own test, we agree with you how the sample is drawn and sent.
Sorting and grading
Leaf and scrap are sorted and graded in our own plant against the grade on offer.
In-house screening
We screen in our own laboratory in Gujarat before material is dispatched.
Batch certificate for dust
Dust carries a certificate of analysis for every batch.
Third-party certificate
If you want an independent figure, we arrange a certificate from a third-party laboratory.
Retained sample
We seal and keep a sample from each lot, so a later question can be put to the same material.
Method, basis and documents by product
The method, basis and paper that go with each product
Product values sit in one table on the Products page. The sample and the lot specification sheet carry the confirmed values.
| Product | Method and basis (as-is or dry, stated on the document) | Certificate (third-party certificates on request) |
|---|---|---|
| Leaf | Screening value | Third-party laboratory certificate |
| Lamina | Screening value | Third-party laboratory certificate |
| High-nicotine scrap | Screening value | Third-party laboratory certificate |
| Stems (by-product) | Screening value | Third-party laboratory certificate |
| Dust | Screening value | Certificate of analysis per batch |
| All products | Method, basis and tolerance agreed in your contract | As above |

The laboratory concerned issues any third-party certificate. To match a requirement to a grade, use the grade finder.
How to verify us
Test the material before you commit to an order
- Run a sample through your own laboratory
- Name an independent laboratory, if you prefer one
- Ask about the sealed retained sample kept for each lot
- Ask for a third-party certificate
- Ask which documents your destination needs
What we do not claim. We do not claim laboratory accreditation or product certification. A sample, a sealed retained sample per lot and third-party certificates let you check the material yourself.
We settle sample size and delivery when you enquire.

Certificates and reports
Three ways to check the figures
Batch certificate of analysis
Every batch of dust has its own certificate of analysis.
Sealed retained sample
A sealed sample is kept from each lot, so a later question can be put to the same material.
Third-party laboratory certificate
We arrange a certificate from an independent laboratory for the parameters and method you name.
What a certificate should show
Use this checklist on any certificate that reaches you, ours or another supplier's.
- Lot or batch ID
- Date
- Test method
- Reporting basis (as-is or dry)
- The result and the unit
Crop-protection residue limits differ by destination and by contract. Name them in your specification; quality parameters buyers should specify shows where they sit.
If results differ
When two laboratories give different results

Two laboratories can return slightly different figures for the same material. Before the order, agree how the specification is measured and how a difference will be handled.
The contract names the test method, basis and tolerance. If a nicotine result is questioned, the sealed retained sample gives both sides the same material to test, at a laboratory and by a method we agree at the time.
- Agreemethod, basis and tolerance
- Sampleretained per lot
- Testby both sides
- Resolveon the same material

Questions
Questions buyers ask about testing
How do you test?
Our own laboratory in Gujarat screens the material before dispatch. Those results are screening values, not results to a CORESTA method, so read each figure with the basis stated beside it (as-is or dry). Screening does not replace your own testing, and we expect you to run it.
Are you certified or accredited?
We do not claim laboratory accreditation or product certification. We are a registered exporter with the Tobacco Board of India, and registration details are available on request. A sample, a sealed retained sample per lot and third-party laboratory certificates let you verify the material yourself.
What if my result differs?
Laboratories can differ slightly. Your contract sets the method, basis and tolerance, and we keep a sealed retained sample from each lot. If a nicotine result is questioned, that sample gives both sides the same material to test at a laboratory agreed at the time.
Which documents come with a shipment?
The contract and the destination decide the set. A commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading are usual, and the destination may require further documents. Dust also carries a certificate of analysis for every batch.
Do you provide third-party certificates?
Yes. If you want an independent figure, we arrange a certificate from a third-party laboratory. Give us the product, the parameters and the method you reference when you enquire.
Send us the specification you work to
Give us the product, the destination and your target figures, and we will send a sample with its specification sheet for you to test.
