Our story

Leaf, scrap, stems and dust from one plant in Gujarat

Indileaf Ventures LLP is based in Gujarat, one of India's main tobacco-growing states. We offer Indian tobacco leaf, high-nicotine scrap, stems and dust from one supplier, and each lot is sold against a specification. Gujarat leaf and scrap are sun-cured on open ground. In Gujarat, scrap is a product in its own right: sun-cured Nicotiana tabacum, sold on nicotine block and mesh. Stems and dust are the by-products of threshing.

Alongside leaf and lamina we supply nicotine-extraction feedstock. We source through a farmer network of 1,500+ farmers, and threshing, cleaning, sorting, grading and screening happen in our own plant in Gujarat, with lots screened in our own laboratory. We also prepare the documents each shipment needs.

Specifications for the whole range sit on the products page.

What the supply figures cover

High-impact (high-nicotine) scrap4 million kgAnnual supply capacity

Capacity figures are indicative and vary by season. Volumes and schedules are agreed per contract.

The 4 million kg figure describes capacity for high-impact scrap, which we sell as a product in its own right. It is not a shipped volume. Stems come off threshing and processing as a by-product, so they are available alongside leaf and scrap as processing allows.

How we work

How an order runs

  • Every sample leaves with its specification sheet. Typical values are indicative and are confirmed when the contract is agreed.
  • Each dust batch has its own certificate of analysis, and a sealed retained sample is kept for every lot.
  • Documents follow the destination, and volumes and schedules are fixed in the contract.

How to check a lot

  • Test a sample against its specification, in our laboratory or in one of your choice.
  • Agree the method and the basis (dry or as-is) for nicotine in the contract.
  • Ask for the document list for your destination.

Our quality page explains how we test, and the guide to sampling tobacco lots shows how a representative sample is taken and agreed.

Sourcing

Grown across India's tobacco states

Gujarat is our home region for scrap and leaf, grown there as several trade types, including bidi tobacco, Lal and Kala Chopadia, Gadaku and rustica. We source flue-cured Virginia from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Each region has its own season, so we plan around the crop calendar. The sourcing map shows the regions we buy from.

We are committed to labour standards aligned with the conventions of the International Labour Organization, and we expect our suppliers to meet them. We keep purchase and lot records for all supply. Buyers with sourcing questions are welcome to ask us.

For customers with sustainability requirements, we run STP-aligned practices with our contracted farmers: field-technician support, farmer training and free protective equipment, farm-to-lot records for that group, and an independent human-rights assessment completed in 2026. We make no claim of STP certification. The programme covers the contracted group, not the whole sourcing network.
